GENERALITIES
The PHARAONS CLASSIC is a regularity cross-country rally, opened for each level and each type of off-road vehicles, trucks, cars, bikes or quads, made after 1986.
The purpose is to give a real African Rally for those who are not ready to do the official race with its regulations. You will run on the same tracks of the Pharaons International Cross Country Rally, with a road-book and speed average to respect. With the GPS, Tripmaster and Iritrack (position and speed in real time) systems, you are always followed by the PC Course.
At any time , the maximum speed or the performances will be considered.
There will not have exclusion from the race for CP missed; each participant could go at the end of the race if health and mechanic are considered good by the stewards and the medical staff.
The budget will be equivalent at the raid, much cheaper than the Pharaons ICCR. An organisation’s truck could take pieces and wheels for competitors who ask for this.
Road Book
The official track will stay secret until the distribution of the road-book to all participants.
The description book of the stages will be given to the competitors during the administrative verifications.
The road-book of the next stage will be daily given to each competitor at 5 p.m each day, under the bivouac tent.
As a regularity rally, where the speed will be never considered for the classification, the competitors are directly responsible of their own comportment on the stage, with the real difficulties of the tracks, in function of their car and team capacities.
Start
The interval between vehicles during the start procedure, will be one minute or 30 seconds. The start will be done in conformity with the road-book. The time attributed to cover the distance between two CP will be on the “Carnet de Contrôle”.
How to stay in race with a control missed
For each Check missed, the competitor will take a penalty, in point (to be defined).
If a competitor doesn’t run a Regularity Sector (SR), he will can follow the race with a fixed penalty for each end of SR not done.
If a team stop the rally for any reasons at any moment, they could continue the next day with all the penalties dues for each check missed or not done.
For a new start admission at the stage, the competitor will be accepted if his vehicle is always in respect of the securities regulations, written on the technical rules. If the stewards want, they can ask a medical control for competitors who are not sure to be able to continue.
To be written on the final classification, the vehicle must pass the last control of the race by its own-self, during the last stage, October the 6th.
Regularity Sectors (SR)
The teams must cover the SR at a fixed average speed.
The maximum average to respect won’t can overpass 80 km/h.
The classification based on-time done by the competitors will be done like that : For each minute over the ideal time : 2 penalty points
For each minute under the ideal time : 1 penalty point
The average speed fixed by the organizers will can change different time during the same SR, it will be function of the track type and its shape.
The different controls of end of SR will be occupied by a steward and indicated by the same panels than a race CP (please refer to technical rules).
Carnet de Contrôle
Each team will receive a « Carnet de Contrôle » which they could find the scheduled times for the distance between two controls.
The Carnet de controle is a document where is written, by the steward, the official time when a competitor arrive at a control area.
The team is the unique responsible of his carnet, its loose will be penalised.
Authorized Assistance
- By a vehicle engaged and still in race in Pharaons Classic
- By the transport of pieces and wheels in the organization truck – Extra charges : 300€ (limited possibilities)
- By an assistance vehicle (prices are the same that assistance of Pharaons ICCR)
Classification
The Final Overall Classification will be done by addition of penalty points
A Classification of classes will be done in function of categories.
In case of equality, the teams will be divided by the age of their vehicles, the older will be the winner, and after by the number of SR done at 0 point.
To be on the Final Overall Classification, it’s necessary to pass the last control, just before the final podium, by yours selves.
