regulation

INTRODUCTION
The Raid is an excursion, organized in groups conducted and coordinated by the Organization staff, connected with the "Pharaons International Cross Country Rally".
The Raid benefits from all the services the Organization places at the Rally's disposal and it follows a large part of the Rally track.
The Raid participants will be split in homogeneous groups, according to their capability, vehicle characteristics and/or other standards, which will allow an optimal management of this formula.

REGULATION
The entry to the RAID FORMULA, with the signature of the relevant form, will imply the acceptance of the present Regulation in all its parts.

  • All the Raid participants will receive an identification bracelet, which will allow the access to the bivouacs and hotels.
  • The Raid participants will be split in groups of about 15/20 persons each, with a guide who will be the constant reference point for everyone in his group.
  • Each Raid team must follow the instructions given by his guide, who will establish times and places, departure timing and tracks to follow.
  • Each evening, a briefing for all the Rally participants will take place, and a special one for the Raiders will follow. The presence of almost one of the crew members is compulsory.
  • It is compulsory to have the balise or the satellite phone during all the raid period. Both can be rented.
  • During the raid each team must maintain the position assigned by the guide: any overtaking, challenge and bravado is strictly forbidden, as well as it is mandatory to maintain a safe distance from the preceding vehicle. JVD will not take any responsibility for any accident or damage which may occur from the participants' imprudent or inappropriate behaviour.
  • If a team wishes to give up a leg or decides to abandon the caravan, it must inform their own guide.
  • At the bivouacs, each participant is responsible for the technical assistance of his vehicle: the Raid entry, as well as the Rally one, does not include an assistance service, but it offers the possibility of using the services of the JVD workshop truck at private pilots' disposal.
  • IMPORTANT: Before the race starts, an Egyptian insurance broker will offer some integrative insurance policies which you could underwrite, if you wish, paying the relevant premium.

As far as the medical repatriation, the Raid participants will have the same insurance coverage as the Rally participants:

  • Transportation from the site of the accident to the nearest hospital, using the Organizer's air or land cover.
  • Medical expenses coverage in Egypt up to a maximum of € 2,500.00.
  • Repatriation to Europe with regular flight transportation in a seat or a stretcher.
  • Evacuation of serious cases by a special medically- equipped airplane to an European hospital.
  • Transportation by ambulance airport/hospital at the arrival, as well as the research for an adequate hospital.

NOTE: With the acceptance of the present regulation, all the Raid participants declare to release JVD International from any responsibility for any physical or material damage which may occur during the development of the Raid itself, except in case of a fault by the Organization.
